Working in retail during the holidays is a painful experience. I am so ready for it to be over, but that probably won’t happen anytime soon, since after Xmas I’ll have to deal with all the returns. Oh yay!

The other day I was walking out to lunch, eating some popcorn, when this guy behind me says something along the lines of “did you know they say popcorn is healthy?” But I wasn’t 100% sure he had said “healthy” or “unhealthy” so I just replied with a “I just know it tastes good, hahaha”. He went on about how I was smart, blah blah, and they should put me on Wisdom magazine (obviously a made-up mag, but I thought of Nynaeve just the same), and I just wanted the convo to end, so I said “Have a nice day! ” His response was “You too, baby girl” and I was like “wtf?” I ran into him again on the way to my car, and I’m just like jeez….

My WOT reread is finally moving along. And *gasp* I am enjoying myself! I am finding myself getting all caught up in the action and drama and whatnot. It’s just such a fun series-for now-it won’t be too much fun once I get past book five. I’m just sad because there is no one reading along with me so I can’t be all “let us discuss chapter two, now”. But guess what, bitches? That is going to change in the next books, so get your asses in gear! Yeah, I’m looking at you, Red. And I might even force Nik to listen along if he gets me a crappy Xmas gift, because than I’ll feel evil. Unless my gift to him sucks, then I’ll make him listen along just out of spite.

Also, I am now using a key chain that says “Niklas”.

I kept meaning to post about my mom’s dog, Maxwell, and a couple of pictures I took, but I was far too lazy to get them off my camera. Anyway, Maxwell had a kidney stone and couldn’t pee it out, so he had to have surgery. Mom made this big deal about how he was going to have to have a cone, and she wasn’t sure how he’d do with it, so I had to spend the night and watch him one day blah blah. So I go over-with my camera-and the dog isn’t wearing any cone! I put it on him, however, so I could get my satisfaction.

Maxwell in cone

Whenever he had the cone on he would go sulk somewhere.

Max in cone

In other news, I have to be at work at 5:45 AM this Friday. Oh I’m sorry: Black Friday. I live far enough away that it basically means I have to be awake at four, and ready by four thirty. Seriously not happy. At all. And I have to be there until three. Plus side I get Saturday and Sunday off. Feels like a very small plus right now, though.

And finally, Leekeworld order came in. Only the carrier the other day decided he didn’t want to come back so I would just have to go pick up the package. Never mind that EMS is suppose to be attempted three times before being left at the P.O. Then the redelivery page was giving me a stupid error. I wanted it redelivered today, but it kept saying that the earliest it could be redelivered was…today. If only I could hurt their server. If only that would do any good. Oh, and so I go down there and I have to show ID (fine) I have to sign and print my name on one of those electronic things (like when you shop with your credit card at a store) which was awkward, and then I had to use that same machine and write out my address. Seriously, enough of a pain in the ass to make redelivery seem like a godsend.

So anyway, Perseus’ wig is definitely not MSD size, so we’ll see if it is CH size. Whenever he shows up. Ayleena’s wig needs some wig spray, but will be easier to handle than her massive curls one. It is also really really long. Picture is blurry, but I am so not retaking it.

Long wig

I also had Caraline try Kate’s shoes to make sure they were indeed for SD size feet.

Kate's shoes

I did not need to unbuckle to get them on.

Also, Caraline wasn’t wearing any sort of bottoms, only a shirt. Just thought I’d add that in.

Well. On the 18th I had to take the bus to work. It was a newish bus as far as buses go, and everything was going merrily and I thought it would be an okay day. Right before Camelback (a major street) I noticed we passed a street by the name of Elm, and I was reminded of the movies and thought to myself “haha I should take a photo”. Then the bus went dead.

I thought maybe she could start it back up, but no, she just opened the doors and we all herded out like so much cattle. She said the next bus for that route would be around in fifteen minutes, which was cutting a little close to clock-in time for me. I tried calling dad, but no answer, so I called my mother who in turn asked if I had called my dad. She did come and get me, so it worked out I guess, but I arrived at work so not in the mood to be there.

I inadvertently picked up more hours at work. I thought Pete just wanted me to work this Saturday, but no he means all Saturdays. And as it turns out I didn’t have to work this Saturday anyway. But hey, more monies for me!

Man, this semester is just flying on by! November is my last full month of school. I only have a week of school in December and then a week of finals and then: graduation. Oh shit.

The first Phoenix Wright game is on its way to me. Yes! Finally! It only took three (or four) failed attempts on ebay!

Oh and HAHAHAHAHAHAHA at Jan! WordPress 2.3.1 being out all ready!

I peeked at the finals schedule that is being drawn up…I couldn’t help myself! Anyway, it looks like I’ll be working three days in a row. Ugh! Of course, I worked three days in a row last semester, so it really isn’t that huge of a deal. Basically, it’s 4-Closing Thrusday and Friday, open-close on Saturday. I’ll get to sleep/pack/study(ha, me study) on Sunday, and then it’s three days of finals! Yay. Don’t ask me the dates of these things, however.

In my creative writing class there is a girl who went to my junior high, and I just recently found out there’s a boy who I was friends with in elementry school. Sine! Lord…he remembered my name. It is a pretty unique name. I recognized him by his eyes, but only when he said something. It’s just so…weird.

There is a forum I saw the birth of and pretty much knew things were going to go bad. I said nothing in the beginning although I am letting my voice be heard now. It wasn’t done on purpose: They simply wanted to start something for fun (or should I say to continue the fun), and didn’t really know too much about it. There was no point in leading them to TAZ. Is that my fault? I don’t know. I honestly believe my words would have fallen on deaf ears. They’ll just have to learn the hard way. I suppose I could try and be more active and become a voice of “reason”, but I fear there is not reasoning with some of these people. I can think of one who would listen (who is also one of the few adults) but the teens and the teens at heart are the mob, and if there is one thing Rome has taught us it’s that the mob rules the city.

On my own forum I try to be fair, but you know what? It’s MY FREAKING FORUM. I’m so sick and tired of the “democracy” speech. I wasn’t voted the admin. I paid for the forum/space/bandwidth and thus, became the admin. I am the Empress and what I say goes. It’s like school. Sure, you have rights, but half of those disappear when you walk on campus. Same thing. You have the right to not visit or post. Everything else depends on me.

That’s how it is in the admin’s world. You have to balance fairness with reality. The reality being you are the supreme ruler. What kind of ruler you want to be is up to you, but no forum would survive if it was a republic. Period.

So, the first day. I started out making smoothies and was actually kind of enjoying it, but then I was put on one of the wrap stations. Not really that much fun. I kept thinking “any minute now I’ll be back on smoothies”. Never happened. I’m hoping on Wednesday I’ll just be in the smoothie station, because I really dislike the whole wrap thing. I can’t really remember everyone’s names; I know Josh, Allison, and Jeremy. Well and Sarah of course. After getting off work my lower back hurt, followed by sore feet. Which makes sense, being that I’m not used to standing for five hours straight. Walking home caused my legs to hurt, which in turn made it hard to fall asleep.

I actually overslept and didn’t wake up until 7:52, which is eight minutes before my first class. As it turns out, some chick was making a presentation that lasted until 35 past the hour, so I didn’t actually miss anything. In fact, rest of the class period was taken up with everyone standing in line to get their tests back. I got a B by the way.

Today, I was on regisiter all damn night. Of course, as luck would have it, tonight was one of the busier ones. Not exactly the best time to learn a new skill. I suppose it forced me to learn fast. I’d actually rather do that and smoothies than wraps. I don’t know if you can tell, but I really hate the wrap thing. Oh, and my schedule changed. Now I work Sunday-Tuesday because one of the other new chicks was originally suppose to have the Tuesday closing shift, but found out she had something else to do at 6 Tuesday nights. This works out pretty good I guess. I tend to do all my French homework Wednesday nights, so not working will help.

Having said that, I’m actually updating instead of doing homework for my Ethnic class. I’m so horrid!

On the 19th I turned 21. I hadn’t planned on doing much of anything besides homework and CSI: Miami, but around 11 I received an email from my dad saying he was coming down around 3 PM. So, I ended up getting some gifts from family: Notes from My Travels, The Flowers of Evil, Purple Rain, kitten gift book, some money, and a kitty post it thing. Went out to dinner and had a drink, went to the mall, then to Penguins for ice cream, and finally some mexican restaurant and received another drink. That was pretty much it. On Monday, Whitney’s package finally came (Sims 2 and my camera), but what surprised me was Kate’s package coming as well. Her mix CD for me is all fancy like, so now I feel bad mine for her won’t be as neat.

Last night I figured out how to use Windows Movie Maker, and I’m going to make a video of a couple of my Sims and share it with all of you. See? Marie loves you.

Hmm, what else? Oh! On Tuesday I got an email from the supervisor of IQ Fresh, about sitting down and talking about working there. I replied I would like to do that, but didn’t hear anything else. Then I thought “why not check my voicemail?” and lo and behold I had a message about my application. So I set up an interview for 3:30 Friday which gave me enough time to do laundry and take a shower, etc. Well, actually I didn’t pick the time, just said “Friday afternoon” and the time was picked for me. Either way! I start working on Monday.

My roommate is going home for the weekend. I don’t dislike her or anything, but now I can play Sims all day and not feel bad about it. Of course, I can’t really be on a computer all day. I still end up going out and doing something, or roaming around the room cleaning various corners. I always thought I was able to just sit and veg at the comp, but I’ve learned otherwise. Whenever I go to the library to work on their computers, I find myself tired and bored within an hour usually. I realized this is because I’m just at the computer and doing nothing else, which isn’t something I’m used to.
