I haven’t played around with it that much because…well I don’t know! I guess without Kate around I feel less of an urge to show off aforementioned camera. That and I am waiting for Elnore to come back home. I will show something of her later in this post.

But I did take a quick comparison!

Also also, Elnore will be shipping home soon! She is finished with her new faceup and looks lovely. She still looks like Elnore to me, although maybe all Dilluis look like Elnore to me. :V

Now, the basic way to fix such issues is to disable artwork on your iPod, wait for the iPod to update, then re-enable. However, it was during this re-enabling process that I would get a (-50) error. Now only some of the albums were showing any art, but most of them were blank. Basically the only solutions I found were “use a different cable” and “do a restore”. Since I couldn’t find my old cable, I was basically left with the latter. This did not make me happy, since Apple in all its glory took out the ability to take songs off your iPod and onto your hard drive easily.

Backing up the music wasn’t hard for me, just annoying, and the restore is just a one click process. Reimporting all that music (I had about 5.36GB) was the long part; not so much getting the files into the library, as deleting all the duplicates-because again, Apple didn’t see fit to have such a feature built in.

But yay, the iPod is working properly again. Today, I spent a good portion actually going through the albums that never had any artwork to begin with and tried to fix that. In some cases I had to actually make my own (like for mixes, or what-have-you). I really wish you could do the Find Album Art thing on your iPod.

And yes I am anal about the cover art, because it’s silly to have a fancy iPod with coverflow, if you don’t have covers!

If I go with the first option I am looking at a Canon or a Sony. I’ve heard good things about the Powershot, but Sony is supposed to have better lenses, and well, I love Sony anyway. However, since my Olympus was a gift from dad, I find myself not so eager to go that route.

So, the DSLR path. I’m looking at a Canon XTi or a Nikon d40. Canon has higher megapixels, but that’s about the only thing that makes me like it just a tiny bit more than the Nikon. I like that Nikon uses SD cards because that seems to be all people like to sell out here in Arizona. CF shouldn’t be too hard to find, but I like the variety of options I’ve seen with SD. The only reason the higher megapixel count appeals to me is because I don’t want to have to get a new DSLR in a couple of years. And I just like getting more bang for my buck, I admit it.

This June Volks is having Dolpa3 in NYC. I would like to go, since they have not decided as of yet to hold the November Dolpa in Los Angeles. Traveling to the east coast does not appeal too greatly to me, to be honest. If it was in Chicago at least I’d have family I may or may not want to stay with. I could get my uncle to pick me up from the airport at least.

I’ve thought of maybe getting my dad to go, although what he would do that weekend I have no idea. Doubt he would want to go to the convention.
